Job Purpose/Summary

Tokbox is looking for a high caliber Partner Solutions Engineer to help our strategic partners with their technical needs. You will provide sample code, best practices, hot-seat code reviews, build sample apps, fix bugs and build tools among a number of other varying technical and business activities.

The ideal candidate will be a technical champion that is able to assist our partners on a variety of programming areas, has full stack development experience but particularly strong in their front end web development with great communication skills.

Specific Responsibilities

Responsibilities

You will work closely with our strategic partners/enterprise customers to ensure their success using the OpenTok platform. Responsibilities will include onboarding new customers, resolving technical issues, developing Proof of Concept for prospects, building tools and maintaining all technical documentation/knowledge base up to date.

As a Partner Solutions Engineer, you will utilize your technical expertise to ensure customer happiness. You will work closely with BizDev, Technical Support, Development and Product teams while aligning customer needs with our business goals. You should be passionate about technology and have a knack for explaining complex technical concepts in easy to understand terms.

Experience

Requirements

– BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field

– BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field

– Implemented a native mobile app on iOS and/or Android

– Native application development in Java for Android and/or Objective C or Swift for iOS (and willing to learn the other)

– Working knowledge on Eclipse, Xcode or other IDE and mobile device emulators

– – Familiarity with one or more of the following: Asynchronous programming, MVC, Interface Builder, Blocks, Data structures, Design Patterns like Observer/Listener, Iterators etc

– Familiarity with server side technologies is desirable (Node, Java/C++ etc.)

– Experience with debugging tools and a proficiency in root cause analysis (especially client side, but also familiar with server side debugging).

– Willingness to work in a fast paced environment, learn new technologies, and programming languages

– At least 3 years of experience building web applications

– Strong customer/client service skills

Additional capabilities

– Bonus points:

– Understanding of the network stack and protocols

– Familiarity with real-time communication technologies including: Websockets, WebRTC, RTP, XMPP, SIP and a variety of audio/video codecs

– Worked on (even better if you’ve deployed) a browser add-on/plugin

– Worked on audio/video applications
