PYP Coordinator ASB Mission

The  mission  of  the  American  School  of  Bilbao  (ASB)  community  is  to  educate  students,  in English, with values that foster honesty, respect for others and intercultural understanding.

Act as the main liaison between the school and the IB;

Be familiar with all aspects of IB and PYP documents and their subsequent requirements:

Ensure that all necessary IB publications are readily available to staff;

Lead and   facilitate   the   transition   and   development  of  the  school’s  PYP while supporting teachers in their understanding and application of PYP methodology;

Provide evidence of the adoption of the PYP curriculum across all facets of the Lower School curriculum;

Ensure that all Units of Inquiry and subsequent Programmes of Inquiry are accessible to,  and provide  resources  that  promote  understanding  of the school’s PYP for,the wider school community;

Promote the ethos of the IB and the Learner Profile throughout the school community;

Complete   all   necessary administrative   responsibilities related   to   the   ongoing implementation of the PYP and prepare and submitin a timely fashion  all documentation required for authorization;

Create and maintain relationships with other PYP schools within and outside the region; and

Perform other activities for the school as might be required and/or as requested by the Director.
